At Apple A Day, education isn’t just a profession – it’s a passion rooted deeply in our values.
Founded by former teacher Gemma Edgar, Apple A Day was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that every child deserves access to outstanding education. What began as Gemma’s personal vision has grown into a dedicated team of ex-teachers and education professionals, all united by the same mission – to support local schools with exceptional staff, and to uplift the wider community in the process.
While our core service centres around sourcing and supplying high-quality teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to schools across Wiltshire and Bath, community impact has always been a vital part of our identity. We are proud to be based in Wiltshire, and giving back to local children and schools is something we consider both a responsibility and a privilege.
Each year, Apple A Day commits to reinvesting approximately 10% of our profits directly into the local community. These contributions take many forms – event sponsorships, enriching educational experiences, and initiatives designed to positively impact the lives of young people in our area.
Our most recent initiative took place on the 8th of May, when we sponsored over 400 children from local primary schools to attend a VE Day-themed picnic and circus event. It was a day filled with laughter, history, and amazement – an experience that will live in the memories of those children for years to come.
Looking ahead, we are excited to be sponsoring the West Wilts Dance Festival once again, a joyful celebration of movement, creativity, and student talent. This will be our seventh year supporting the event, and it’s one we always look forward to with great pride. It’s a brilliant showcase of the energy and commitment that exists within our local schools.
But our commitment to giving back doesn’t stop there. Over the years, we’ve supported everything from book donation schemes, to sports team kits and wellbeing workshops. From funding extra-curricular programmes and offering free professional development, to stepping in where budget cuts have hit hardest, we are always looking for new ways to support and make a positive impact.
At Apple A Day, we believe that when children feel inspired, supported, and connected to their community, they thrive, not just in the classroom, but well beyond it. We’re proud to play a part in making that happen, and we’re incredibly grateful to our partner schools, staff and supporters for helping us turn that vision into reality.
We believe the best ideas come from those working directly with young people. If there’s a way we can help bring a project to life in your school or community, get in touch with us. We’re always open to new opportunities to support and collaborate.
