Supporting Teachers at Apple A Day

At Apple A Day, supporting teachers is our priority. We put people first and pride ourselves on getting to know you as an individual. As fellow teachers, we understand the challenge of finding a position that appreciates your skills and contributions. We put our teachers first and we can prove it! Here are just a few of the benefits our Apple A Day teachers receive.

We offer fair and regular pay

We provide financial security and peace of mind to our teachers, allowing them to focus on their work and professional development. We appreciate the worry that comes with starting a new role and not getting paid on time (or at all!) and the importance of fair compensation for the work you do. To remedy this, our payroll is done completely in-house, so you don’t have to worry about late payments, umbrella companies or additional fees.

We have a pay rise commitment to our teachers and offer competitive pay rates. For example, day rates have been increased by above 5.5% and we ensure long-term rates are paid from day one of a contract. When our teachers are looking for a role, we will always negotiate fair pay on their behalf and ensure a competitive pay scale for all long-term positions.

Beyond sourcing the roles

As headteachers and primary school teachers ourselves, we know what questions you are likely to be asked and how you can highlight your strengths in interviews. We offer personalised support and guidance throughout the entire job search process, including interview preparation and salary negotiation. Our goal is to help you secure a position that offers competitive pay and aligns with your career aspirations.

We don’t stop supporting you after the interview process either; we’re here to help you once you’ve been placed, whether that’s with lesson planning or advice on how to settle into your new post.

Staff well-being is our priority

Being a supply teacher can often mean you find yourself without a consistent team of colleagues. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive community, so we do what we can to make sure all of our educators feel like they are part of the team.

We offer regular get-togethers with other teachers, whether this is at local events or for workshops and classes. We even offer a mentorship scheme so that newly qualified teachers (NQT) can partner with an experienced teacher for support and guidance.

We have recently established a new partnership with a leading gym, Snap Fitness, meaning our teachers have 24/7 access to the gym at a reduced rate. The membership includes unlimited access to 40+ classes per week at no extra cost and an array of other benefits, such as a free health check when they join and two free personal training sessions.

Mastering work-life balance as a teacher can be tricky to navigate, so we will always ensure working patterns are flexible to suit your schedule. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment for all teachers, making sure they have a healthy balance.

Training and development

We make sure that every teacher has the tools and resources they need to succeed in their role. We believe that investing in professional development leads to better outcomes for both our teachers and the schools they are placed in.

We are proud to be an award-winning agency for learning and development and offer a wide range of L&D initiatives that are designed to empower teachers to continuously grow in their profession. Our NQT support programme is unparalleled and our Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is personalised, including in-house team sessions, one-to-ones and online opportunities.
