Having been an English teacher in a local secondary school for the past twelve years, I have recently joined Apple A Day as a recruitment consultant. My role is focused on expanding the number of secondary schools and teachers that we work with and I hope, with my background in teaching, to provide a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable approach to the recruitment process.

We are seeking a engaging and committed teacher of Art and DT for an 11-18 comprehensive academy in a market town close to Chippenham. The school prides itself on its academic reputation, and promotes individuality, independence and creativity amongst its students. The students at the school have high aspirations, demonstrate a positive attitude to learning and exemplary behaviour.


About The Role

  • 0.8 role starting in January'25 until April'25 (in the first instance)
  • Teaching KS3 - KS5.
  • Planning, marking and assessing required in line with school policy
  • Flexible curriculum delivery to best meet needs of pupils.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and hardworking students with excellent attitudes to learning.
  • A caring and supportive department, staff body and wider school community.
  • Pay to scale from day one in line with experience.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (support available for an ECT) or ENIC (was NARRIC) and right to work (overseas teachers only)
  • Possess a valid DBS on the update service (or we can process one for you)
  • Be a reflective, empathetic and engaging classroom practitioner with the desire to make a real difference to pupil’s lives
  • Have high expectations of every pupil
  • Be able to easily build a rapport across the wider school community
